Attending
Board Members Present: Anne Greenblatt, Max Broome, Lucy Barnett-Hardcastle, Peter Renfro, Elizabeth Naegle, Richard Naegle
Guests: David Beazlie

1) Agenda for Town Meeting — Sunday, April 19, 3-5 at Oddfellows Hall
  • 5 minutes: Welcome + brief history of FPA (Richard Naegle) + request for donations to defray costs + need email alert volunteer;
  • 30 minutes or so: priorities for coming year — breakout process of threesomes; listing of results on charts; identifying priorities; (Anne Greenblatt); Anne will bring pens and paper for small group recorders + one easel and chart; Richard will bring another easel and chart + marking pens.
  • 30 minutes: Efren Carillo addresses community: hopefully, he’ll respond to priorities just identified; + update on current challenges to Forestville and West County including County budget cuts, low flow in the River, water conservation, etc.; time for questions; Richard will introduce Efren at beginning
  • 10 minutes: Lucy B-H on Forestville Community Fund.
  • 30 minutes or so: proposed roundabout at Mirabel and 116 (presented either by County representative or Alan Tilton)
  • Closure: Richard will announce next Town Meeting will address issues of a sustainable Forestville.
  • Elizabeth N will set up information table at entry with donation basket.
  • Board members to arrive promptly at 2:30 to help set up room.
  • Max will check with Efren about his time availability. If needed, we will change order of agenda to fit his needs. Max will also communicate issues we hope Efren will address (e.g. budget cuts, low flow/water cuts, roundabout, solar program).
  • Richard will talk with County reps about whether or not they are needed to attend Town Meeting regarding roundabout. Really depends on whether or not County needs further help in lobbying CalTrans for the Roundabout. Richard will also inquire about design of roundabout encroaching on Crinella property.
2) Sustainable Forestville
  • David Beazlie spoke passionately about the global “transition town” movement for local sustainability in terms of environment, business, development, etc. He is in touch with “transition town” leaders in Sebastopol. Decision to have this be a topic of future Town Meeting.
3) Forestville Community Fund
  • Lucy B-H reported on FCF application process which is now occurring; applications are available on the FPA website as well as at the Pharmacy, Bank of the West, and the Packaging Store. FPA Reports column in next Gazette will highlight FCF.
4) Youth Park Parade
  • Discussion of whether FPA should have contingent in parade; while we very much support the parade, most of us are involved in other parade groups or youth park barbeque volunteer efforts; better to not have official FPA contingent in parade since there would be too few participants;
5) County Budget Workshop in Guerneville tomorrow night
  • Important meeting — who can attend? Richard will try to be there.
6) Town Social and Business Expo
  • Richard met with Earl Stephens, President of the Chamber of Commerce, and Randy Hull, Member of Chamber Board; decided that Chamber and FPA would again jointly sponsor Town Social and Business Expo; this technically is the FPA’s Chamber mixer as a member of the Chamber; decided to have special area for local non-profits; Richard and FPA will invite the non-profits to participate.
  • Richard will find out from Chamber if financially feasible for spaces for non-profits to be free.
