The board meets once a month at different locations and times. Please check the calendar to see the dates or contact Board Chair for more information.

Location: Anne Greenblatt’s house

Attending: Joan Riback, David Carpenter, Mickey Fernandez, Birgit Carstenson, Sig Anderman, Anne Greenblatt, Jack Burger, Elizabeth Naegle, Richard Naegle

Minutes taken by Anne Greenblatt, Secretary.

Agenda approved.
Governance Committee
Richard Naegle reported that our application for 501C3 non-profit, tax-exempt status has been submitted to the IRS.
Communications Committee
Elizabeth Naegle reported on logistics for the Town Meeting scheduled for May 1, focusing on downtown planning issues.

It was decided that we will not print the survey in the West County Gazette, as the cost is too high, but will advertise the FPA website in the Gazette, and direct people to the on-line survey on our website. In addition, surveys will be distributed and collected at the Town Meeting. Richard suggested that Board members put surveys into the mailboxes of neighbors, with a note.

Sig suggested that press releases be sent to other newspapers about our Town Meetings. Elizabeth will discuss this with Vesta. If Vesta is unable to do this, Sig will volunteer to write press releases and Anne will contact Bruce Robinson, Business Manager of KRCB, who has volunteered to serve as a consultant on media contacts.

**Board Action: moved, seconded, and unanimously approved that the Board authorize Mickey to set up an email distribution list through an outside vendor she has researched, at the cost of $15.00/1000 emails. She will work with Janet Zagoria to design a format for FPA emails.

The Forestville sign unveiling will be held on May 8 at 2 PM, after the clean-up sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. Joan and Richard will plan the ceremony, which will also involve refreshments.

**Board Action: moved, seconded, and unanimously approved that we participate in the Youth Park parade on June 5.
Planning Committee
Format for the May 1 Town Meeting was discussed. The purpose is to educate all of us on planned developments and “smart growth” planning principles, as well as to obtain feedback from community members on what they want. David is moderating with event, and the Downtown Planning Committee has planned the content.

Sig recommended that the FPA write up a statement on the proposed storage sheds which could be emailed as an action alert on our new email distribution system. He will research this project.
