Forestville Citizens for Sensible Growth and Canyon Rock Quarry have signed a settlement of the FCSG lawsuit regarding quarry expansion.

 

The settlement includes a number of environmental goals and mitigations agreed to by the Quarry as well as Canyon Rock’s commitment to make a yearly contribution of $16,000 to a community fund.

 

The FPA will administer this money which will be granted to “community groups dedicated to the improvements in downtown Forestville and/or the preservation of the Green Valley Creek, including but not limited to the Forestville Youth Park and the Forestville Senior Center.”

 

For its part, Forestville Citizens for Sensible Growth agrees to no longer pursue any legal challenge to Canyon Rock Quarry’s Use Permit.

 

The settlement will be in force for twenty years.
