Minutes of 6/8/2010 meeting approved.
Sidewalk Improvement Project funded by the Forestville Community Fund. Raynetta James reported on sidewalk improvement project progress.
CalTrans prohibited any work on #116 as a scenic highway, so the workwas done on side streets in the downtown.
Roundabout Design
A Roundabout Committee needs to mobilize to gather ideas for design of the central circle, and maintain communication with Tom O'Kane, county staff person in charge of the project.
Also decide whether to have a Town Meeting to gather ideas, or possibly have a community design competition? FPA Board member Ken Smith, Judith Iam, Richard, and local landscaper Jerry Dawson volunteered to be involved.
Richard will meet with Judith and Ken Smith to brainstorm how to get the ball rolling, and possibly propose regular meetings at Food for Thought.
Alan Tilton, local traffic engineering consultant, will be contacted for CalTrans design guidelines.
Forestville Community Fund (FCF) progress
Lucy reported on progress of 2010 projects funded by FCF.
Judith Iams suggested we could put up earth flags in the American flag holders, and Max will follow up with the Chamber on this idea.
The Board discussed how to select members for the Forestville Community Fund so that it would continue to represent the diverse population in the town.
New FPA Website Report
Richard and Elizabeth, working with consultant Janet Zagoria, were acknowledged for the significant time and energy they put into this project.
Robert O'Connor will be the primary contact person, and will forward emails to the site to the appropriate person.
Max will write a President's Message for the website soon.
A Web Alert Committee will be set up. Donations to FPA to cover maintenance of the site, web alerts, and Town Meetings can be made using PayPal.
The Downtown Planning Committee will be removed from the site, as it has ceased to function.
Max will write an FPA report for the West County Gazette (also for Sonoma West). Important for all Board members to solicit content from the community.
Community Garden proposal
Sig Anderman would like to investigate ideas for property and water for a community garden. Possibly on land bordering Hendricks Ln. Richard will contact him (and also discuss Victory Gardens, Forestville Youth Park, and Methodist Church involvement).
Forestville School improvements funded by Measure K.
Anyone interested in serving on a citizen oversight committee being set up by the school for this should contact Max.
Re-visiting and updating goals for the FPA and community visions for Forestville.
A Town Meeting was suggested for March to focus on this again as a community, especially in view of the new funds being contributed to the town by Canyon Rock Quarry, in addition to funds being contributed by Bodean Quarry.
Respectfully submitted by Anne Greenblatt, Secretary.
